Free Trees from MWRD

Stop by the 33rd Ward office at 3001 W Irving Park Rd to pick up a tree (while supplies last) As a form of green infrastructure, a medium-sized oak tree can help prevent flooding and improve water quality by absorbing 2,800 gallons of rainfall per year. A "walk-my-block" is a scheduled opportunity for the Aldermanic office to visit your block, get to know our neighbors, and spend some time hearing about any issues affecting your block. This is a great time for our team to survey your block for any potholes, sewer issues, lights, trees, and any other City service-related issues. Due to COVID-19, the City's Department of Public Health will not be hosting the regular Flu Shot Walk-up Clinics around in the community but there are still a handful of upcoming events where you can get free flu shots with or without insurance. If you have insurance, you may call a local CVS or Walgreens pharmacy to schedule your flu shot. ComEd is scheduled to begin a demolition process of their building at 3500 N California on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. ComEd has built a new facility and will be demolishing their old facility on the corner of California and Addison. The project will be completed in stages and will take important precautions to avoid issues with dust and any other nuisances to the community.
