Alderman Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez and the team would like to thank our neighbors for always bringing the spooky season to the 33rd Ward in BIG and creative ways. For that reason, we are bringing back our 33d Ward Halloween Decoration Contest for its second year!

Signs to advise Trick-or-Treaters

Though we are in a very different place than we were last year, we understand many residents may still be hesitant to partake in Trick-or-treating due to COVID-19. We encourage neighbors to put up signs at your property so as to avoid unwanted contact with families. If you plan on trick-or-treating or offering candy, please think closely about how you can keep your family and your neighbors’ safe. Last year, neighbors gave out pre-prepared bags of candy (prepared in a sanitized space) and some gave out candy (from a distance) utilizing creative ideas such as a candy chute. We encourage you to get creative but please prioritize cleanliness and COVID safety!

Below are two signs my staff designed as samples for what you can use to advise neighborhood families. You can download these at home or stop by the office to pick up laminated copies of the signs. Please call ahead before stopping in at 773-840-7880.
