🏠 Stopped by Moo Goong Terrace and Darul Amaan two senior housing facilities in our Ward to distribute beautiful art that was donated by 33rd Ward Students to seniors in the ward to brighten up their holiday season.

Thank you to the students from

  • Cleveland Elementary
  • Bateman Elementary School
  • Hibbard Elementary School
  • Albany Park Multicultural Academy
  • North River Elementary School
  • Carl Von Linné Elementary School
  • Edison Elementary Regional Gifted Center
  • Tuesday’s Child
  • Concordia Place
  • Roosevelt High School

and thank you to all the teachers, principal, and support staff who helped us acquire all of these wonderful art pieces. This initiative was designed and executed with the help of our Senior volunteers who make up our brand new “Sage Bridgade.” We will continue to bring donations to senior housing facilities in the ward throughout the cold months.

🛍 I did some holiday shopping in local businesses in the Ward and wanted to share these great local shops

  • Ameer General Merchandise (3444 W Lawrence Ave),
  • La Chapina de Chicago (4055 N Kedzie Ave)
  • Wolftronics (3501 W Lawrence Ave)

Ameer General Merchandise

Ameer General Merchandise has a wide range of items from clothing to shoes, perfumes and many other things for the whole family. They are so friendly and helpful. I was able to get some super cute baby clothing for my baby nieces and a beautiful shawl for my mother. Visit them at 3444 W Lawrence Ave

La Chapina de Chicago

La Chapina de Chicago is a new little store selling beautiful crafts from Guatemala and Mexico! The store is a cozy and colorful refuge from the chaos that holiday shopping can be. They have beautiful toys, clothing, accessories and even Guatemalan artisanal chocolate and treats. If you want something truly special make sure you visit them this season. They are located at 4055 N Kedzie Ave.

Wolftronics

Wolftronics on Lawrence Ave has a wide range of electronics for everyone on your list. They are super welcoming and ready to help you find what you need. I was able to get a really great little speaker for my nephew and some perfect headphones for my niece. Come see them and find what you need right here in the neighborhood at 3501 W Lawrence Ave.

Lastly, our Participatory Budgeting team went out to the Vaccination Clinic and Weekly food Pantry at Rincon Family Services to gather a last set of ballots from residents of our ward.
