PB 2021 Results are in!

Big THANK YOU to our incredible Participatory Budgeting Committee!

This year was a hard year for our PB committee, as I am sure you can all imagine. What was previously a very engaged, hands-on process, became a 100% virtual process. We want to thank the volunteers that form our PB Committee for their commitment to building community with us. We are ecstatic to share that despite having an exclusively virtual process, we were still able to get 876 votes from 33rd Ward residents. That number is only 26 votes short of our votes from last year when we weren’t in a pandemic! We were able to engage over 1,250 residents in PB 2021 which we are very proud of. Below you are figures detailing our voting results.

RESULTS:

What percentage of funds do you wish to be allocated to Street & Alley repairs?

Residents voted to allocate 50% to street/alley repairs

Here are the voting results for the percentage of the PB Funds that residents wish to see allocated to Street/Alley repairs.

50% equals to $500,000.

The remaining $500,000 will be allocated to the other projects on the ballot in the order of most popular to least.

Which project do you wish to see funded with the remaining PB Funds?

Residents voted for their favorite project, below are the number of total votes for each project.

Below are the results in order of most popular. The column on the right shows the Sum cost if that project were to be included. The project in red was funded elsewhere so we will not need to fund it.

Note that theres only one project which we cannot afford with the remaining $500,000 our PB funds but the Aldermanic office will work to use funds from the remaining Menu funds toward this project.
