How can I get a vaccine?
The City, and County are offering notifications when vaccination has opened up to your eligibility category. Vaccines will become more available over time so please be patient.
The city has laid out three ways that you can get your vaccines once you are eligible.
(Please do NOT try to get vaccinated if you are not eligible yet.
- Your health care provider
- Your pharmacy
- Your employer
The city is providing vaccines to certain employers, local pharmacies, and health care providers to distribute. If you are eligible to be vaccinated please keep in mind that this does not mean there is a vaccine available for you. Resources are still limited and it therefore you may not find appointments available right away. Please be patient as the vaccination rollout improves.
Am I eligible to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine in Chicago?
As of Monday, April 5, 2021, Chicago has expanded its vaccine eligibility category to include Phase 1c. Below are the list of categories that are currently eligible to receive a vaccine. Please remember that not all vaccination events will accept ALL eligible residents so if you are planning to attend a smaller event (not a Citywide vaccination site) please double check their eligibility requirements before signing up for an appointment there.
Long-term care and other residential healthcare facilities (1A)
Healthcare workers (1A)
Chicagoans age 65 and older (1B)
Non-healthcare residential settings (1B)
Frontline essential workers (1B)
Chicagoans age 16-64 with underlying medical conditions (1C)
All other essential workers (1C)
How do I register for a vaccine at my local pharmacy?
The City of Chicago has provided vaccines to pharmacies across Chicago. These pharmacies each have their own registration link which can be found below. Pharmacies have been asked to prioritize Chicagoans and current patients.
