Earlier this week, Stephanie Brooks lost her life to gun violence in our community. We all know that violence tears apart the fabric of our communities and it is important that we come together to restore and reclaim our community as a safe place for all.
Local organizations and groups are gathering to have a candlelight vigil to honor the life of Stephanie Brooks. Join us tomorrow at 6PM at the corner of Francisco and Montrose for a moment of reflection and community healing in response to this tragedy.
Community members and families are invited free to bring art, candles, prayers, and other expressions of support and love for your community.
This event is being organized by the following groups:
Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez, 33rd Ward Alderman's Office, Israel's Gifts of Hope, The Kedzie Center, Rincon Family Services, Christ Lutheran Church, Albany Park Neighbors, 33rd Ward Working Families, Chi-Nations Youth Council, Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association, The Residents of Irving Park (TRIP), Northwest Safety Coalition, Peace for the Park, Tabor Church, Albany Park Defense Network
